Company: RAZOR Wrestling

Story: RAZOR Wrestling was started by 80s wrestling star Molly Bones in 2023. She named the company after her late husband Razor Rockwell. Bones inherited a small plot of land in the Nevada desert in 2021 and on that land she built the Bobby Shitake Arena. The BSA is dedicated to the memory of her brother, a degenerate gambler and wrestling enthusiast, Bobby “Shitake” Bones. The production value is minimal but that is part of the company’s charm. That’s what Molly says, at least. The events air for free on GRBG: A Streaming Platform every week.

PARTICIPATION
Overview: You do not have to promo to participate in RAZOR Wrestling. That being said, those who put in more effort will see themselves move up the card more quickly. If you are submitting angle ideas, segments, matches for Shotgun, etc. then that is just as good as writing a promo for each cycle. All angles will be discussed with handlers before anything happens. You won't get blindsided because that's honestly very rude.
The main idea behind the federation is for it to be fun. We don’t want people to stress out and pump out novellas four times a month. Write some cool shit and have fun with it, alright? I will emphasize that you DO NOT have to write 1000 words for each promo, that’s just the cap because if you can't say what you need to say in 1000 words then you need to edit better I guess. I know I do.
GRADING
Promo Limits: 2 x 1000 Word Maximum per Cycle
- Entertainment: If your promo isn’t engaging to the reader then it wouldn’t be engaging to a viewer if it were real. If the promo isn’t entertaining, then it’s not a very good promotion of the match and card -- which is kind of the whole idea, right?
- Match Talk: Your wrestler is supposed to be promoting interest in the match that they have coming up. If they barely talk about it or diminish it then the promo isn’t really doing it’s job. They should have a reason for wanting to fight. Even if they think they are above their opponent or something like that the more people that watch the show and buy tickets means more money/exposure for your wrestler. So talk about the match.
- Character Development: Your character should show a little bit of growth with each promo. No one likes a character that gets stale. Show us how they are adapting to the world around them or responding to things that are happening to them. Don’t stagnate, evolve!
- Awareness: Demonstrating that you know what is going on in the federation is an asset. You don’t have to go off on every little thing that happened on the previous show but being aware of key events doesn’t hurt!
- Spelling & Grammar: Listen, we aren’t going to nuke you for a few mistakes or issues. But if the writing is extremely poor then you aren’t going to do very well. Take your time, edit, and make it intelligible or you’re gonna have a bad time.
Overall: You aren't going to like the result of every match you have. This is a very subjective game and not everyone likes the same kind of promo. Feel free to message the staff if you have an issue, but do so in a pleasant and respectful manner. The staff do this for free so don't be a dickhead to them.
OTHER ASPECTS
Segments: Feel free to message staff on Discord about segment ideas. There is a channel dedicated to segment sign up as it helps staff map out the shows in advance.
Shotgun: This is our "off week" show where you get to write your own squash match. It's a good way to help get elements of your character over and give you control over how they are portrayed. For more information, check out the Guidelines for Shotgun thread.
JOINING
Style
RAZOR Wrestling only accepts original characters. There is no limit on how many characters you can have but make sure you are up to the task of participating with all of them or we’ll kill one of them off screen to prove a point.
Application
If you do not post the Application template as it has been laid out for you, your Application won't be accepted until you fix it. If you can't put some care into the application, then we don't expect that you'll put much care into participating in the federation. Fair enough, right?
Alignment
We want there to be a strong emphasis on Faces and Heels. Pick one. If we have too many of either side, we will only accept applications from those that want to play the types of characters that we are lacking. Not everyone can be the “cool heel” and those that create or join with an interesting character are more likely to do well.
NPCs
There will be an assortment of colourful NPCs that you will face from time to time. They will cut promos that will be written by staff members. It gives us the opportunity to write things that aren’t just matches and segments, plus it gives people a chance to get some wins if they are having a tough run. As long as you post a single promo in a jobber match, you will win. Unless we really don't like you.
