sunrise hospital
----
Holy fuck. Sunday Night did not go as planned.
Jack McGrath slowly came to consciousness under the bright lights of the Sunrise Hospital in downtown Las Vegas. He was all alone, his only operable eye squinting. His other eye was wrapped tightly in a bandage that encompassed most of his bald head.
“Oh no…” he said audibly.
He lunged out of the hospital cot and raced towards a mirror. A look of horror and shock covered his face. Jack dropped his head into his hands, recalling his final memory of the Main Event.
[[…Ninja has a broken piece of table in his fist and he stabs McGrath in the eye! McGrath rolls around the ring in agony and Ninja takes a bigger piece of table and smashes it over McGrath’s head.
McGrath is folded up in to a horrible, bloody, mess. McGrath grabs at his bloodied eye socket…]]
“Oh God… no… no… no!” he screamed.
His concerned father darted into the hospital room, “Jack! Please lay down... you need to rest!”
McGrath couldn’t contain his bitterness and rage. Typically, even keeled, he exploded. “What the fuck is wrong with me!? What happened to me?!”
As his new reality began to crystalize, Jack felt emotionally crushed. He collapsed into his father’s arms. His Dad tried to comfort him as best as he could, but how do you tell your son that he is never going to see out of his left eye again.
“Jack… I’m so sorry…” his father stammered.

The 28-year-old rookie had come to Razor Wrestling to catapult his career, and now he was faced with the biggest setback of his entire life. How would he respond to something so catastrophic?
A million questions raced through his mind as he agonized over the match and worried about his immediate future. His father offered some consolation, but Jack knew that his Dad was heading back to Boston sooner than later, and he would have to face this cold reality all alone.
Things were going to get worse before they got better for Jack McGrath…
