BACKSTAGE
The scene opens with interviewer Brick Lane, standing in front of a Shotgun logo'd backdrop.
BRICK KIND: Ladies and Gentlemen, joining me at this time is the manager of
Your Hero, and
Mine, Mark Storm... Mister Gregory Murphy.
The cameras pans out, unveiling Murphy standing beside Lane, still wearing a neck brace as well as his usual suit and tie.
GREGORY MURPHY: Is that really,
all, you're going to introduce me as?
BRICK KIND: I mean... is that not who you are?
GREGORY MURPHY: Well done Brad, you did your job but apparently you're still incompetent. I'll have you know that I am a world renowned manager and agent, as well as a New York's time's best selling author for my book; "Murphy Madness; an exploration in self care"... I'm the manager of the hottest faction ever assembled in this business, The Heroes for Hire, Brad!
BRICK KIND: It's Brick...
Murphy completely ignores Brick and turns to the camera, with his signature grin stretching over his face.
GREGORY MURPHY: I am the manager of Strike 2 Kill's Liam Richardson and Miles Watson, who are the embodiment of tag team wrestling, perhaps the best team in the world right now, signed to Razor Wrestling. I am the manager of the leader of the Heroes for Hire stable, the future Razor Wrestling World Champion, is
Your Hero, and
Mine, Mark Storm. I am, the orchestrator of it all, the man with the plan... Gregory Murphy. That's the sort of intro I expected Brick, I'm sorry, maybe I'm asking too much.
BRICK KIND: No, I apologize for missing out all those finer details, mister Murphy.
GREGORY MURPHY: Yeah well, you know now Brad.
BRICK KIND: It's Brick.
GREGORY MURPHY: Whatever, now what is it you wanted to ask me?
BRICK KIND: I was actually hoping to ask if I could get a word with Mark tonight?
GREGORY MURPHY: No, no, no, Your Hero, and Mine, is very much focused on the task in hand, he hasn't got time for quick interviews right now. In a place like RAZOR Wrestling, you're never too sure what's lurking around the corner and I've tried to warn him, I got done in my first damn week and look at me!
Murphy scoffs, chuckling a little but stops as he feels the discomfort against his neck brace.
GREGORY MURPHY: I told him that this place was infested with the absolute worst of the worst, the bottom of the barrel and despite that, he wanted to come here anywhere. And you know what, especially after that win over Pascal, I'm beginning to see why he loves this place as much as he does. It's because those fans out there, they love him and that's unconditional. You heard how they reacted when he had his eyes set on that title.
Brick nods his head as Murphy pauses.
GREGORY MURPHY: That shit was intense, right? You heard that pop. I heard it, PJ Lemon heard it, and so did everybody in the back too. They know that a champion is already made and he hasn't even got the title yet, he's the people's champion. Despite all the madness and chaos that has ensued since we got here, he's found love in this crazy place and it's keeping him here. Just know this, Brick, when my client has his eyes set on something, he goes for it with every he has. That doesn't bode well for anyone who stands across from him. We've already found that out and soon enough, PJ Lemon will too.
SINGLES
MARK STORM vs. WAFFUG
The crazed clown Waffug paces the ring, mouthing things to himself as Short Change Hero by The Heavy plays through the PA system. Your Hero and Mine quickly makes his way to the ring, rolling through the bottom ropes and immediately engaging in a battle of strikes with Waffung.
DICK DELAURIER: Your Hero, and Mine may not be doing interviews but he is in action tonight and he's eager to get things started quickly here tonight!
FIONA METZ: Still not my hero, and still not impressed. There's nothing heroic about this!
The bell rings as the two continue exchanging strikes in the centre of the ring. Storm ducks underneath a lariat attempt from Waffug, delivering a sequence of strikes; a kick to the thigh, elbow smash, forearm, followed by a spinning elbow, before culminating with a Pele backflip kick. Waffug staggers as Storm immediately gets to his feet, running towards the ropes and rebounding off of them. As he gets to Waffung, the crazed clown greets him with a big boot to the face.
FIONA METZ: Fuck yes, got him!
Waffug throws Storm into the corner before taking a few steps backwards. He charges towards Storm but Storm manages to evade, hoisting Waffug up onto the top rope and performing a dropkick to the outside. Storm then looks around the arena, psyching up the fans as he looks for an aerial maneuver. Next thing you know, he's rebounding off of the ropes before propelling himself over the top rope with a Tope Con Hilo, landing on Waffung!
DICK DELAURIER: Your Hero and Mine goes airborne to take down the crazed clown Waffug!
FIONA METZ: What is up with this dude anyway? Does he not rest?
DICK DELAURIER: He's got a lot of energy, that's for sure.
FIONA METZ: Too much energy for my liking.
Your Hero and
Mine doesn't waste anytime, bringing Waffug back to his feet and rolling him into the ring. He prepares himself on the apron as Waffug groggily gets to his feet. Storm delivers his finishing
Super Slingshot Storm Strike (Buckshot Lariat) for the 1-2-3!
BIG MOUTH MINDY: Here is your winner, MARK STORM!
DICK DELAURIER: A straightforward win for Your Hero and Mine, who's got to feel confident heading into his match with PJ Lemon!
FIONA METZ: Confident why, Dick? Because he's beaten a couple of losers? He's going up against
the champion and that's a different caliber, Dick.
DICK DELAURIER: Well we'll find out tomorrow night when PJ Lemon defends her Razor Wrestling world title
Storm poses on the turnbuckle, gesturing a title around his waist whilst mouthing
"soon".
