The light of Zagovor is growing within Sergei. He can feel it. Every day the power grows stronger. It is like Sergei’s grandfather always told him – power grows through action. It must be reiterated for those who do not remember – Sud Ognya is not among you for simple victory. Sud Ognya is here to terrorize. Victory is not enough. Eradication of all that fail to open their eyes is paramount.
The Paladin was able to defeat Sergei. Some will say this. It is a lie. The victory that Sergei gave away was of no consequence because The Paladin was left with no victory at all. The Paladin was left lying, another victim of Zagovor’s might. A statement was made using The Paladin’s body and he will not soon forget the power of Zagovor. Now, a new sacrifice has presented itself.
Sergei will not refer to you by your chosen name because it is like acid on his tongue. You are The Minstrels, the менестрели. Appreciators and makers of music. A noble cause to some but a path of foolishness in Sergei’s eyes. The only music that Sergei knows, the only hymns that he sings are those that praise the might of Zagovor. You will come to know them well as you enter into this tandem contest.
Sud Ognya could become Tag Team Champions with minimal effort. It would take but a small fraction of Sud Ognya’s power to rampage through each round of this contest and emerge as the zenith of tandem combat in this company. At first, this tournament was of no real interest to Sud Ognya. And yet now, Sergei recognizes that the influence that would come along with such an accolade cannot be ignored. The Children Of Zagovor have been a fixture at RAZOR Wrestling events for the entirety of its existence but they have not been the focus. Becoming Tag Team Champions would thrust not only Sud Ognya into the forefront but also the mystic power of Zagovor.
Perhaps the time for victory within the confines of this organization’s structure is now. Perhaps Sergei and Samhain have reached a point where the fear is not enough. The destruction is not enough. In order to pay proper homage to the practice of Zagovor…Sud Ognya needs to ascend to the next level in the hierarchy of this organization. It is a very accomplishable task as Sud Ognya is first placed against these…Minstrels.
You are of interest to Sergei, Minstrels. You are mentor and apprentice which does mirror Sergei’s relationship with Samhain. Samhain wants to know the power that Sergei possesses. Sergei has no doubt that this is what The Apprentice wants from you as well, Mentor. He respects you, perhaps even idolizes you. He wants to do what you do. But you and Sergei both know, Mentor, that the only way an apprentice completes his training is by dispatching his idol.
How close is The Apprentice in doing that to you?
It could take years, months, weeks…even days. You will not truly know until it happens. Sergei, on the other hand, knows of the ambition brewing within Samhain. Sergei will be ready when Samhain chooses to realize his destiny. It is not coming any time soon, there is far too much for him to learn. His next lesson is in the power of influence. The level of influence that Sergei seeks could come with winning this tournament and claiming the Tag Team Championship. There is only one way to know for certain.
