DICK DELAURIER: The violent reign of PJ Lemon is finally over and wrestling fans tonight we absolutely were alive in the Superunknown! For Fiona Metz and our entire team here at RAZOR Wrestling, GOODNIGHT FROM LAS VEGAS!
Watson and Richardson lift Storm up onto their shoulders. Caked in blood, skin singed, eyesight forever changed – Storm holds the championship high as Superunknown goes off the air.
–SUPERUNKNOWN–
Joey Bryant is seen outside Bobby Shitake Arena, has to be somewhere out back, sitting on a curb near a couple dumpsters watching the end of Superunknown on an iPad. He’s wearing a black “RAZOR WRESTLING” shirt and blue jeans and has a duffle bag next to him, presumably with his ring gear and other essential goodies. The stream goes silent and Joey has a big smile on his face and is nodding as he turns off the iPad and begins putting it back in his bag.
A door swings open from the arena and it appears to be RAZOR Interviewer Brick Kind who is also in street clothes and has a duffle bag of sorts in one hand and is fumbling with car keys in the other hand. Joey sees him and stands up and starts walking towards him.
JOEY BRYANT: Heyo, excuse me!
He jogs gingerly to catch up to Brick.
JOEY BRYANT: You work here, don’t ya? Interviewer? Ring Announcer? Something interesting like that?
BRICK KIND: I– Yeah I do interviews here from time to time. Brick Kind, nice to meet y–
JOEY BRYANT: Brick! Brick Kind! Yeah yeah, it was right on the tip of my tongue. I’ve seen your stuff, kid. Real good, real good…yeah. Yeah.
Joey and Brick just kind of awkwardly look at each other for a couple seconds till Joey sticks out his hand to offer a handshake
JOEY BRYANT: You don’t know me at all, do you?
BRICK KIND: I’m uh sorry sir I can’t say I do. But nice to meet you…uh…
JOEY BRYANT: Joey. Joey Bryant.
They shake hands and Joey takes a step back and begins digging in his bag before pausing and looking back at Brick.
JOEY BRYANT: I was on the kickoff show tonight. I won a match.
More digging in the bag.
JOEY BRYANT: Former wrestler, well, now I suppose current wrestler. Just signed here a couple weeks ago.
Joey sets the bag down and squats down and digs some more and looks up at Brick.
JOEY BRYANT: Ah forget it. You’ll learn eventually, kid. Figured they’d tell you these kind of things.
Joey stands up and now holds his bag in his arms, tight to his chest.
JOEY BRYANT: I just figured you’d want to get a word with me about how it felt to be back out in the ring, my plans for RAZOR, if I have a ride back to the hotel…
BRICK KIND: A ride back…? Look, I’m done for the night. I don’t have a microphone or a script or anything prepared to do an interv—
Joey finally pulls out a microphone attached to a long cable out of the bag and hands it to Brick with a big grin on his face. Brick reluctantly grabs it from him.
JOEY BRYANT: It’s connected to my iPad. The mic. We got a camera right here, I’ll just email you the audio! Easiest job you’ll ever have.
Brick sighs and is about to say something but Joey grabs the mic and lightly pushes it up to Brick’s lips and winks at him. Brick sighs but nods and they both turn and face the camera directly, Joey’s big smile has gotten even bigger somehow.
BRICK KIND: What’s up, RAZOR Wrestling fans? I’m here immediately after Superunknown, where I ran into one of RAZOR’s newest signees, Joey Bryant.
Brick holds the mic up to Joey’s face but Joey just stares at him. He makes a “go on” motion with his hands and mumbles something in Brick’s ear.
BRICK KIND: …Joey, how did it feel being out in the ring for the kickoff show? Any ring rust to work off?
Joey takes the mic from Brick’s hand and pulls him in, his arm over his shoulder.
JOEY BRYANT: Great question, Brick. Ya know, this guy doesn’t get enough credit around here for his hard hitting journalism. Get him a raise, Molly!
He releases Brick and gives him a bit of a forceful push on the back and Brick gets the message and shakes his head and picks up his bag and walks off, can hear his keys jingling as he walks away.
JOEY BRYANT: The only rust Joey Bryant has is the rust under his 2006 Jeep Liberty! You don’t get rusty doing what comes natural to you. You don’t get rusty when using your God given talent! Jesus won’t lose his touch when it comes to turning water to wine and Joey Bryant won’t lose his touch when it comes to wrestling like he never took a day off. I’ve been busy, I’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this for YEARS and there’s finally a company worthy of my time and dedication and I mean, wow!
He turns and motions towards the arena behind him.
JOEY BRYANT: Can you believe that f*ckin show? New GRBG Champion. New World Champion. New Tag Champs. New faces, new stories, new fans, new possibilities as we start the next chapter and that chapter has JB’s name written all over it. You all just don’t see the vision yet.
He pauses and takes a deep breath and let’s it all out slowly.
JOEY BRYANT: Murder Ninja…I don’t believe there were enough eyes on what I was able to do to you tonight. What was it like, 6 people? 12 eyes if we’re lucky? Let’s do it again. Let me put my eyes & my body at risk in hopes that the world of RAZOR Wrestling welcomes me with open arms as I take down their first GRBG Champion. Let me sacrifice my retirement. Let me sacrifice my life in solitude. Let me sacrifice everything that I’ve ever accomplished and leave it in the past where it belongs as I start this new journey to the top. I am The Martyr, and I will sacrifice my sight, my pride, and everything in between in order to make you people - and Brick Kind - see exactly what they’ve been missing out on. Talk soon.
Joey Bryant packs his mic back into his bag, smirks, and walks out of camera sight.
