History: Founded by Fast Eddie Gant in 1988, UWK was the leading independent British wrestling promotion until the mid-90s. It closed it's doors in 1998 and was then revived in 2019 by Mauler Metz with the intention of Mauler's daughter Fiona Metz being the cornerstone. However, Fiona walked out of the first show due to a dispute with her father, leaving the promotion in a bad way. Without a bankable star UWK has struggled to maintain an audience due to its old school style which wrestling fans at large consider outdated.
