Owner: Oscar Basa (Original), Horado Basa (Current)
Home Arena: Palacio Dorado in Guadalajara, Mexico
History: FLG began as a lucha school in 1980 founded by head trainer Oscar Basa. FLG ran the occasional show during this period but it was not considered a full fledged promotion until graduate Relámpago gained notoriety all over Mexico. FLG started running shows more frequently throughout the 80s because Relámpago had a fierce loyalty to Oscar Basa and wanted to put Guadalajara on the map as an alternative to the bigger federations in Mexico.
Meanwhile, the first graduate of the school and Oscar's son Horado Basa left to hone his craft in the United States, namely in the Big League of Wrestling promotion. Spending nearly a decade north of the border Horado started to feel that he was being held down in BLW. Horado left in 1988 and returned to FLG to be the cornerstone of his father's promotion, much to the dismay of FLG Ace Relámpago.
The Prodigal Son and The Ace would have legendary battles in FLG until the early 90s when Relámpago left to try his luck in the United States. Horado Basa took the mantle of FLG Ace until the red hot newcomer Viento came along to take the crown. In 2002 Oscar Basa passed away and Horado hung up the boots in order to run the company. It was all downhill after that...
