RTC South Terminal, Las Vegas
----
Holy shit. Jack McGrath finally made it to Las Vegas. He smirked as his large frame lumbered off a Greyhound bus. The bright lights of the bus terminal shined brightly down on him as he let out a sigh of relief.
He had just completed the final leg of a monster journey across the United States. A quick 16-hour car ride from Boston to Chicago, followed by a luxurious 40-hour Greyhound bus trip from the Windy City to Vegas.
This is what chasing your dreams looks like (when you’re afraid to fly).
McGrath, a lifelong puroresu fan, began training to become a professional wrestler at the start of the pandemic in the Spring of 2020. It certainly wasn’t an easy path, but once McGrath set his mind to it, he went all in. Over the last two years, he has been tearing up the independent scene throughout New England, all while working full time as a Union Laborer in the city of Boston.
Earlier this Spring, Jack had entered contract negotiations with an executive from GRBG after a clip went viral of McGrath smashing a poor soul through a table with the gnarliest half nelson suplex. He now found himself in the hot heat of Las Vegas on the cusp of his debut with Razor Wrestling. He had left everything he had ever known and loved back in Boston. In the past, Jack was never one to take chances. He had always played it safe.
Things were now about to change, and there was no time to look back. At 28 years old he had finally made a leap of faith.

the morning after episode #3
monday, may 29
There’s nothing quite like a conversation with your Dad after a major milestone. Jack McGrath was beaming as he paced back and forth in a tiny motel room, his temporary home. The place was an utter shithole, but he didn’t have a care in the world. He had just made his debut with Razor Wrestling.
Sure, he had lost to that prick Pascal Guadin. And, sure, McGrath suffered a low blow which led to his defeat. And, sure, Gaudin had used the ropes as leverage to make the pin. But, at that very moment when he was talking with his Dad – none of the bullshit mattered.
“Gaudin will get what he deserves soon enough,” McGrath stated confidently.
His Dad was on speaker phone, and replied back in a thick Boston accent, “I believe that, son.”
“Things are happening quick over here in Vegas. Immediately after the match a faction by the name of Destructoras surrounded me, apparently trying to show-off to that French-fuck Pascal. But, before I could even react, two other debutants by the name of Kano and Murder Ninja came to my aid. Now, it looks like I’ll be teaming with them in a trios match on Sunday against Destructoras.”
Clearly concerned, his father responded, “Damn. Well, you’re certainly right in the mix of it all. Make sure you take care of yourself. I worry about you being all alone on the other side of the country.
“I got this, Dad. This is finally my chance to show the world what I’m made of. I’ve waited long enough. Only forward from here on out. I’m going to do what it takes to shine here in Razor Wrestling. I honestly can’t wait to get back in the ring, and take care of these three punks!” Jack McGrath’s excitement couldn’t be contained. The passion for the sport ran deep. He was just getting started.
The conversation between father and son continued as the scene faded out.
