NOSOTRAS SOMOS TODO (DESTRUCTORAS)

Your screen takes on a slight yellow hue over a desert shot so you know exactly where you are. We fall on a dilapidated looking warehouse. A shabby looking sign out front reads "FLG: Fábrica de Lucha de Guadalajara".

Inside the warehouse we can hear the sounds of bodies slamming into ring canvases. Three beat up rings are placed around the space with a few dozen wrestlers honing their craft. The shot moves up to a window in a room that is above the training facility and a figure watches the progress below.

This is Horado Basa, the owner of FLG. In his prime he was one of the most feared luchadores in Mexico but that time has passed. His hair is more salt than pepper these days and he has not competed in nearly a decade. His career continues on through his students, the most notable of which being Destructoras; Araña Oscura, Calavera, and Craneo. The three of them are here with him now in his office.

BASA: It is all coming together now, isn’t it mis hijas?

Basa turns away from the window to face his proteges. The three of them, dressed in all black, are not presenting their usual confident demeanor. Not with Basa.

CRANEO: This was the only way to keep ourselves at the top of RAZOR Wrestling. We needed to bring in Oscura to seize control.

Basa looks surprised.

BASA: Why are you answering a question that I have not asked?

CALAVERA: We know that–

BASA: You know nothing! And I did not ask you to speak!

Calavera cowers, Basa’s booming voice startles all three Destructoras.

BASA: You are insolent. I love you. I love all three of you. But you are acting in a way that tells the world that Horado Basa has taught you NOTHING!

Basa moves closer and his stare turns to Oscura.

BASA: You. You are not ready. I have told you this much. I knew that I should have trained you myself but Craneo insisted. This is why I should always listen to what my heart tells me. Now you have taken off to RAZOR Wrestling and you are going to be devoured by wolves.

Oscura just stares at her feet. Not meeting her mentor’s eye line only serves to anger him further. Basa delicately takes her chin in his hand, forcing her to look him in the eyes. Calavera is uneasy, worried about what Basa might do to her sister. Craneo just watches with subdued anger, fists clenched.

BASA: I know Molly Bones, I know her well. I knew Razor Rockwell too. We had many wars in the old days. Molly does not care for me. Ella piensa que soy un villano. And she will take that out on all three of you. That is why she has signed you.

Oscura is trembling.

BASA: You will be tested. You will fail.

CRANEO: We won’t.

Basa snaps his body to the left and approaches Craneo. They are nose to nose but she doesn't flinch. Her lip starts to curl, she is ready for whatever is about to happen.

BASA: Is that so?

Calavera and Oscura share a look.

BASA: What is your record so far Craneo? You have one single victory. You let an imbécil like Masaru Shinja defeat you. You let a boca ruidosa like Zilpah Okelo embarrass you. You are already failing.

Calavera takes a step forward.

CALAVERA: We are stronger together jefe. You will see. Destructoras will soon be at the top of RAZOR Wrestling. The three that they have us against–

BASA: The three that they have you against this week are united. You united them. You gave them a reason to want to defeat you. It's about more than victory for them. They are hungry. You need to listen. You should have come to me. Instead you have brought shame to me, to FLG.

Basa turns his back on all three of them and moves back toward the window.

BASA: If you do not win this week in Las Vegas there will be consequences. You need to make a statement or you will become irrelevant. Do not let Molly Bones have this over me. I will not stand for it.

Craneo goes to speak but Calavera shoots her a look. Craneo thinks better of it.

BASA: Now leave.

Without protest Destructoras exit Basa’s office. Oscura closes the door behind them and the three regroup. Oscura looks worried.

OSCURA: What are we going to do?

Craneo takes a moment to consider the question.

CRANEO: He wants a statement? Then we will make a statement. Jahkay Miller, Jack McGrath, Murder Ninja – all of RAZOR Wrestling – they will know who we are. We are Destructoras. Nosotras somos todo.
