Biography: Growing up in small town Indiana, Sherman Dewey struggled socially. As an introverted only chilid, he quickly found himself lost in things that made him feel the lore of fantasy novels and the epic world of Dungeons and Dragons; they were his great escape from an otherwise mundane life. Entrenched in the stories of heroic knights and bands of heroes battling against the forces of evil, Sherman, they said, struggle to separate fantasy from reality. Years of counseling--at the insistence of his parents--nearly convinced him they were right. He need to return to reality
But they were wrong.
Just as hope was nearly lost, an aged cleric visited Sherman in a dream and told him he was indeed destined to be a hero, destined for great quests and epic battles with evil. He was, in fact, the next successor in a long line of Paladin knights blessed with a divine energy and tasked to smite evil wherever it exists. The cleric had placed his hand on Sherman's head, a bright light engulfing the dream.
When he awoke, Sherman felt undeniable arcane energy coursing through his veins. He immediately left everything he'd ever known to pursue his new quest.
